The Majority Leader, Lagos State House of Assembly Hon. Noheem Adams Honours Community Excellence Across Lekki Estates

In a significant move to bolster grassroots governance and community spirit, the Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Noheem Adams, has instituted a 2-category Excellence Award for gated estates and communities.

The two-day event, held on December 13 and 14, saw Hon. Adams and the President of LERSA, Alhaji (Chief) Sulyman Bello, visiting Lekki Zone 3 Residents Association (Lekki Scheme 1), Peninsula Garden Estate, Lekki Gardens Phase 1 Estate, and Pearl Garden Estate. The tour was designed to recognize and reward outstanding individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to their communities.

During the year-end celebrations, Hon. Noheem Adams presented awards in two categories: Best Executive Committee Member and Best Staff of the Year for each estate. The awards, which included certificates and 100,000.00 cash token each, were introduced as part of a broader initiative to acknowledge dedication, foster service excellence, and strengthen ties between residents, community leadership, and the state government.

In his address to residents and awardees, Hon. Noheem Adams emphasised the importance of community service. He stated that the awards are not just a measure of contributions, but a heartfelt appreciation for relentless efforts in building thriving, organised, and harmonious estates. He added that work at the community level is the foundation upon which a greater Lagos is built. Alhaji (Chief) Sulyman Bello, President of LERSA, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the association’s commitment to promoting collaboration and excellence among estates in the Lekki peninsula.

The events were also attended by Mrs. Ibiye Ekong, Chairperson of the LERSA Stakeholders Engagement Committee, who reinforced the importance of sustained engagement between residents and their representatives. Estate leaders and residents across the visited communities expressed profound gratitude for the recognition, noting that such initiatives motivate continued dedication to service and community development.

This awards series marks a continued effort to enhance community collaboration, setting a precedent for recognising grassroots contributions to urban development and social cohesion.
